Logitech G Pro Wireless is one of the flagship mouse from Logitech and it is one of the mice which is being used by professional Esports players during their competitive events. It is a great choice for FPS gaming, but the question is “Does that thing worthy of buying in 2024?”
Overview of Logitech G Pro Wireless
So starting off with the physical overview – The Logitech G Pro Wireless comes in an ambidextrous shape which enables the users to use it in whichever hand it suits to them. Both the sides are identical and the size of this mouse is very good for people who have medium to large sized hands. The shape and size of the G pro is same as just like it’s successors G Pro superlight and G Pro superlight 2. Even though its not a very ergonomic shape, no gaming mouse was ever known for it’s comfort, so let’s not waste time by talking about it’s comfort and move on to the next aspect which are its buttons.
Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse Buttons and Specifications
The primary clicks of this mouse are great, logitech doesn’t mention what switch they are using but they are good and tactile and will handle your beating with ease while you are busy smashing heads in your favourite FPS game. You get to see side buttons on both the sides and every button in this mouse can be custom mapped with the help of Logitech’s G HUB software which we will be talking about lateron. The scroll wheel is also of decent quality, some people say they face scroll wheel issue but I haven’t seen anyone, in person yet .It also has a DPI shift button at the bottom just beside the power switch. All the buttons are of very good quality and they are gonna go a long time without any worry.
Now let’s go through the specifications. So Logitech G Pro Wireless comes with HERO Sensor which is now the 2nd grade flagship sensor from Logitech as it’s successor HERO 2 has arrived with G Pro Superlight. But does that mean its bad? Not at all. The HERO sensor packs some insane performance till date and no mid-ranger mouse can beat it till today. I made a detailed video about how this mouse feels and performance in real life scenario, So you can check here details in video.
Why the Logitech G Pro Wireless is Perfect for Both Wired and Wireless Use
By the name you already know it’s a wireless gaming mouse but you can also use it in wired mode. They provide a long enough and tangle free cable with it so that you can play with ease. Unfortunately you don’t get to see any bluetooth support here. The wireless connectivity is flawless and you won’t think of going wired again unless you need to charge it. It comes with onboard memory where you can save your settings so if you go out somewhere to play, like at an event, without the G HUB software also you will have all your settings saved in your mouse only.
The Logitech G Pro wireless comes with PTFE feets but they are quite thin to be honest. I will say this is where they did some of the cost cutting I guess. Apart from this I couldn’t find any where that they did cost cut. The sensor latency, click latency, lift off distance, everything is perfect as it should be for a good gaming mouse. For DPI it comes with 25K DPI and a max polling rate of 1000Hz which is still enough for most of the gamers out there. Even many professional players use 500 polling rate in their mouse till date so its not a factor unless you yourself wanna upgrade. And another thing which I fogot to mention in the beginning is its weight. It is a 80g mouse, which can neither be called heavy nor be called light as nowadays we have many lighter mice available and there are many heavy mouse available than this as well. You get to customise it fully with the help of Logitech’s G HUB software. It lets you change DPI settings, remapping button functions, changing the RGB effects, change its onboard memory settings and lets you save upto 5 different profiles in your mouse for different games.
Summary
So let me come back to our question “Does that thing worthy of buying in 2024?” Its a bit complex in my opinion. If you are thinking of buying it at full price or a 10% discount then I will straight away say that’s not a good idea. By spending a little bit more money you can get a better mouse than this G pro. But if you can buy at a 50-60% cut off price for which you have to buy from the used market, then it makes sense cause for half its price you won’t get such specs in a brand new mouse. So if the condition of the used mouse is good then you can go with a used one and that will give you the best value for your money. And if you wanna see the mouse in action, know all the specifications and all of the stuff it comes with, then click on the above provided link.
