Razer Viper Mini – Don’t make it’s size deceive you

Spread the love

The razer viper mini is a great gaming mouse from Razer for people with smaller size hands. It is smaller than the regular razer viper and it is one of the lightest mice that are available in the market in it’s price segment. So let’s dive into the details…

Technical specifications of Razer Viper Mini

The razer viper mini comes with PixArt PMW3359 sensor which is a very good gaming grade sensor in it’s price segment and overall also a decent sensor even for people who are just starting their career in Esports. It comes with a max polling rate of 1000hz which is fine cause higher polling rates do make a very narrow advantage but for that you have to be a very good player in order to notice that. The minimum lift off distance of this mouse is quite high at 2.4mm and the very fast flaw in this mouse. It has a DPI range of 200-8500 and you can adjust the DPI in the razer synapse software.

Clicks and scroll wheel of the razer viper mini

You get to see a notched scroll wheel of 24 steps. I have used the mouse for more than 2 years and I will soon be posting a review on my youtube channel “Aniket Tech Tips” where I will be sharing my experience with it, so click on my channel name to get redirected to youtube and subscribe so that you can get notified when I upload the review. Coming back to the topic, in my opinion they could have used a better scroll wheel, it gets damaged very easily. For the buttons it has 6 programmable buttons and every button can be reprogrammed using the razer synapse software. For the primary clicks the razer viper mini is using razer optical mouse switch gen 2. It is a wired mouse and the click latency you get to see with this mouse is 2.3ms. It is remarkably low and very consistent.

Compatibility and in-hand feel

The razer viper mini is compatible with both windows and macOS out of the box, however you can’t install the synapse software on macOS. You can’t remap any of the buttons. But the best part is this mouse has onboard memory so you can reprogram everything like DPI, macros, and functioning of the buttons on a windows pc and then use it on a mac. One thing to note here is RGB settings don’t get saved to onboard memory.
The weight of this mouse is 59grams which is just phenomenal as there are very few mouse available with such a good weight at such a price tag. The cable of this mouse is of 1.9m which is fairly long and it is a soft braided cable. They have used virgin ptfe feets which helps the mouse to glide easily on whatever type of mousepad you will be using. The shape and size of the mouse is good for claw and fingertip grip style. The in-hand feel of this mouse is great if you have small to medium size hands and its light weight makes it very easy to hit awesome flick shots.

Should you buy it or not?

The Razer viper mini is a great mouse for gamers who have a tight budget but wants to enter the Esports scene. Its a great mouse but only the scroll wheel becomes a concerning factor. So if you are playing such a game which requires a lot of scroll wheel use then I will suggest you to skip this one but otherwise it’s a great gaming mouse.  I have played CS2, valorant, apex and the finals and so far my experience was very good. I don’t use the scroll wheel much except for jumping in  cs and valorant so my experience was good and if you wanna know about my experience in detail be sure to subscribe to my youtube channel where I will soon be uploading the review video of this mouse showing all the box contents and an in-depth review of it.
