Snapchat Spectacles are sunglasses that come with sophisticated AR technology where the glasses are transparent display. Equipped with a camera and microphone system, the Snapchat Spectacles generate digital entities that are displayed as if they are real by creating a layer of virtual objects over the actual physical environment.
Snapchat Spectacles specifications involve real-time AR capabilities. They come in a unique design & weigh 135 grams only. It uses a 3D waveguide display, of 2000 nits for both indoor and outdoor environment. The augmented entities are produced within a 26.3-degree diagonal field of view. The Snap AR Glasses are equipped with a 2-RGB cameras and 4 microphones to collect accurate information about the surroundings & within a time of 15 milliseconds, it produce natural animations & digital objects.
With Lens Studio app, creators can build 3D face and world lenses, which can then be used and shared on Snap. There are capacitive touchpads on either stem of the glass, which allows navigation through virtual menus in the glasses. Some of the Snap AR Glass features are interacting with virtual objects, play AR games, and record the visual experience & send it to other Snapchat users.
Snapchat Spectacle Price
This is a very high end product that will be released for creators & digital artists for now. So for regular Snap users, there’s nothing to get excited about. The price of the current Snap Glass version is not disclosed yet. However, the previous version was launched at $380 which is available in India via Flipkart.
