Obviously, notifications are what keeps us updated with every function going on in our device. Be it a system notification or chat notification it is mandatory to keep track of. But oftentimes it gets absolutely annoying when you mute a WhatsApp-group but you still receive notifications when someone mentions you.  Muting groups is very common nowadays, especially if you are a student. Getting messages that you are not even concerned about or want to ignore; for this reason, WhatsApp has introduced the possibility to mute group notifications for good. There is an unpopular way to disable this kind of notifications.

How WhatsApp Group Mute Notification Works

When we mute any group & any message has your phone number or your early message mentioned you have previously sent, WhatsApp checks if the individual chat of the sender of that message is muted. If so then WhatsApp won’t present the notification. A very helpful trick in case you are in any useless muted groups and you can’t even leave them. In such case, when you receive notifications because ‘someone mentioned you’, and you want to stop receiving them, you can mute the individual chat of the sender privately. This works on WhatsApp for iOS, Android, and WhatsAppWeb/Desktop.

Feels like you could have known it earlier, isn’t it?
