Logitech offers a wide variety of mice and today we are gonna be talking about one of them. To be specific we are gonna be talking about the Logitech G102 lightsync. It is also known as G203 lightsync in some countries. The Logitech G102 lightsync is a successor of the Logitech G102 prodigy and the prodigy has been discontinued now. Although its a successor it’s not an updated/buffed speced mouse, it’s just a refreshed version of the prodigy mouse where they solved some issues the prodigy used to have but at the same time they created some issues as well by changing the sensor.

So why is the Logitech G102 “The choice of budget gamers”?

The logitech G102 comes at a very good price bracket which is just under 2000 indian rupees. Sometimes on sales it can even go as low as 1200 rupees. And with such good pricing it also brings good gaming grade sensor and brand reliabilty as it’s coming from one of the OG manufacturers of gaming peripherals.

What specs does the logitech G102 lightsync has?Logitech G102

Logitech doesn’t reveal what sensor they are using nowadays, but we know for sure that it is not the same sensor as the one used in the logitech G102 prodigy. The sensor in the Logitech G102 lightsync is a downgarded sensor with much less capabiltity compared to the previous one. The G102 prodigy can handle upto 5m/s or 200 ips where as the sensor in the G102 lightsync can handle upto 3m/s or 120 ips. After 3m/s the cursor will spinout. So does 3m/s bad for gaming? No but if you are someone who does insane flicks with your mouse and then it may annoy you as after 3m/s the cursor will spinout and loose track. But if you don’t play like that than it won’t bother you in anyway. Moreover it comes with a max DPI of 8000. I have made a review video on this mouse where I have unboxed this mouse and all of it’s contents and tested in different games and shared my word. So you can click here and checkout what I had to say after using this mouse.

For the buttons it has 6 programmable buttons which are fully customisable using the Logitech G HUB software. You can also create macros, which let you input sequences of commands in a row that execute every time you click the assigned button. The clicks are of good qualtiy, they feel nice and tactile and so does the side buttons. The prodigy used to have a double click issue after few months of purchase but it was solved in the lightsync. The scroll wheel is a decent one, but it tends to get a little loose with time. The Logitech G102 comes with 2 years of warranty so if anything happens (any physical damage excluded) you can get a replacement.

The Logitech G102 comes with onboard memory so if you wanna connect your mouse to some other device it will still remember your settings and work normally without the G HUB software.
You get to see 2 light zones in the Logitech G102 lightsync and you can fully control it the with the help of the G HUB software. You can keep a single static colour, or a breathing style or on colour cycle depending on what suits your taste. The RGB on this thing is very bright and it will be properly visible even it broad daylight.

Summary

Although the Logitech G102 lightsync is a downgrade compared to the G102 prodigy but it is still a very good mouse compared to the gaming mice that are available in the same price range. Instead of increasing the price of this mouse, Logitech has downgraded the mouse a bit to keep and option for the ultimate budget consumers. For many years the price of this mouse has been the same and sometimes it even drops during sales which was not the case in earlier times. So to summarize I will say the Logitech G102 is a good mouse for budget gamers, for people who can’t extend their budget at all but wants a good gaming mouse from a brand like logitech and yes it is “The choice of budget gamers”.
