Cosmic Byte is a peripherals manufacturing company who is known for making gaming gaming peripherals for budget and mid range market. The cosmic byte ares also comes under their product line up and it targets the budget centric audience. It comes in two variants wired and wireless. We will be checing out both the controllers so let’s dive in.

Cosmic Byte ARES Wired Gamepad

In the box you get to see your wired gamepad and an instruction manual, nothing much to see here because it is a wired gamepad. You just plug it in your pc and that’s it. Nothing else is required.
The wired version of the cosmic byte ares is exactly identical to the wireless version. You get to see the same analog sticks the same shoulder buttons, the same triggers the same d pad, literally everything is same except for the connection type. In here you get to see mechanical analog sticks, they are very good and precise but since they are mechanical you may face stick drift issue in the future like other controllers with mechanical analogs face. By the way if you don’t know what is stick drift and how to fix it to some extent so that your gamepad can live long? Then check it out here.👈

The D pad is good and all plastic like every other gamepad in this price segment, action buttons to be honest are one of the best I have seen so far under 2000 indian rupeers. For the shoulder buttons you get to see nice and broad shoulder buttons so if you are playing shooting games where you need to throw a molly or a grenade or you are playing fifa and wanna pull the ball or do some skills you can focus on the game and not waste your time finding the shoulder buttons.

The triggers are pressure sensitvie and magnetic which is insane to be honest, with the slightest of pressure also it registers the input which is very good and accurate. At this price point you will see mechnaical triggers mostly and in some cases you won’t even see pressure sensitivity. You will see tap triggers which are really bad because its not 2010 in more.

For the haptics you get to see 2 motors on each side providing good rumbling and interactive experience while you are taking your car off road, or hitting the post after you took the shot in fifa.

For lights you get to see a blue coloured v strip in the middle and the action buttons light up as well. The cosmic byte logo also lights up which is a good thing. Every light except the cosmic byte logo can be turned off as well if you prefer more battery over lights. The cosmic byte logo light stays on top make sure that the controller is on and can’t be turned off.

Cosmic Byte ARES Wireless Gamepad

For the wireless version except for connection type everything is same. From analog sticks to triggers. From build quality to using experience everything is exactly the same. You just get to see some accessories in the box which you don’t get to see with the wired one. You get to see a 2.4 Ghz dongle, a type c cable to charge and a usb extender cable to keep your receiver as close to you to avoid any kind of signal issues.

The wireless version works in wireless mode only and the type C cable is just for charging the controller. The Cosmic Byte ARES Wireless charges in 2-3 hours and has a 700mAh battery to make it last for a week if you don’t play more than 2 hours per day.

Both the controllers support 2 inputs like D input and x input and both can be connected to an android phone with otg to play some android games that support. These are generally made for PC so you won’t get good support in android and vibration doesn’t work on android.
