Acer has recently launched their New ALG Gaming Laptop under 65000 INR where they are giving a RTX 3050 6GB graphics card. This is the only brand who is providing such a graphics card in this price segment for now. Normally you need to push your budget to and over 70K to get such a GPU in your laptop.
Looks & Built of Acer ALG
The Acer ALG comes with a very simple subtle and classy design. You get to see metal top lead. The hinge is very good, you can open it with one hand. Inside you get to see a polycarbonate build. You get to see some top lead and keyboard flex but at this price point it is quite normal. The weight distribution of this laptop is very good but the weight of this laptop is guite on the higher side. It weights 2.05 kg, just the laptop and with the charger it weighs about 2.5kg. It is a heavy laptop. The keyboard is a single zone RGB keyboard and you get to see a decent sized trackpad which supports multi gestures.
Specifications of Acer ALG
The Acer ALG comes with a intel 12th gen processor. It is a i5 12450H. H stands for high performance. Although it is a high performance processor, it doesn’t draw too much power. Here you get to see 4 P cores and 4 E Cores. For the GPU as I have mentioned earlier it has a RTX 3050 6GB with a wattage of 75W TGP. With that its paired with 16GB of DDR4 ram which is clocked at 3200mhz. Although brand provides a single channel ram stick so if you want the best performance out of it you need to use dual channel ram sticks. For max support it supports upto 64GB of ram which is mentioned by the brand. For storage you get to see a 512GB Gen 3 SSD which is decent in my opinion. The brand needs to costcut somewhere in order to provide that GPU at this price point. Lastly for connectivity you get to see Wifi 6 and bluetooth 5.1.
For the ports you get to see your K. lock, a usb 3 port a usb 2 port and audio jack ports. On the right you get to see a RJ45 lan port, a type C port and a micro SD slot which can support 1TB of SD cards with ease. Behind the screen you get to see aother type c port a hdmi 2 port and a mini dp port. By the way both the type c ports don’t support power delivery and display out.
For the diplay you get to see a 15.6 inch 144hz display which is not a very color accurate display, it is a go to display which will get the job done. If you wanna do some color correction work then you have to connect an external monitor for that. For gaming it will get the job done since it is a 144hz panel but overall an average display. It has a peek brightness of 288 which is good as brightness of laptop displays which are higher than 250 lumens are considered perfectly bright.
Speakers are really bad in this, very basic 2W speakers. And the web cam is also average one. Mic quality is decent and overall it is understable that a lot of cost cutting has been done to provide that RTX 3050 variant.
For the battery it has a 54W battery and you can’t game on battery. You can only work on battery.
Conclusion
This is a laptop mainly for people who are very strict with their budget can’t push any higher and they need a good spec-ed gaming laptop. But if you can push higher like upto 70K then you should think of other options.
