The new Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, a ‘Made in India’ smartphone is out and it seems that Xiaomi played a quite interesting game. The original name of this smartphone is Redmi Note 10 5G however, India changed the name to Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G. But why? Well they are claiming it to be made specifically for India. Same phone, different name. Interesting (sigh). This smartphone will go on open sale starting from January 8th & on January 7th for Amazon Prime users.
Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G Features & Specifications
Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G comes with octacore, Snapdragon 750G which is a good processor I’ll say. 6.67 inches screen with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Mi 10i comes with 395 PPI, IPS LCD display and a side mounted fingerprint sensor same as the power button. Volume up/down button is at the top of the same side. Xiaomi Mi 10i is available in Pacific Sunrise, Atlantic Blue, and Midnight Black color options.
Xiaomi Mi 10i Battery
Mi 10i offers 4820 mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Dual speakers, notification light and everything is provided with this 5G phone. Xiaomi claims that this smartphone can be charged upto 68% within 30 minutes & a full charge from 0 to 100% might take just under an hour.
Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G Camera
It is equipped with a quad camera setup offering 108 megapixel (Samsung HM2 sensor) camera setup with 8 megapixel ultrawide camera and 2×2 camera for macro & depth sensor (usual for latest releases). Also it comes with 16 megapixel selfie camera- no notch. So we can expect to have better video viewing and gaming experience on a notch less 6.67 inches screen.
Now there’s a issue found with the price. The variants of this smartphone they are providing with the price is bit too costly compared to outside price. The price of (64GB+128GB) is 21,999 in India and in China it is 18,100. Similarly the price of (8GB+128GB) in India is 23,999 whereas in China for it is 20,300. How they fixed this price range is simply out of my idea. They are emphasizing that they have created this phone especially for Indian customer right. Then they should have fixed the rate accordingly. It’s feeling like they just put an ‘i’ with the brand name and increased the price. Also I highly doubt that 108 megapixel is any better than a 64 megapixel camera of a same price range smartphone of same specs.
The specs of Xiaomi Mi 10i 5G, the entire package is very good, no complain on that. The overall body looks sophisticated, its slim with widescreen & all. But the only thing is that I feel they could have done more consideration while fixing the price. I mean as a customer, I don’t find a reason to spend money for the same specs that I’ll get in new Motorola Moto G smartphone or similar smartphones if this is my budget. And they have given a 108 megapixel camera setup really? Is it going to be better than a Realme or other Redmi smartphones of this price range?
