The brand new Insta360 One RS is the successor to the One R that released on 2020. The Insta360 One RS brought the same body design, but features definitely more processing power and works with better camera modules altogether. Easily an excellent GoPro alternative, especially for content creators as they can shoot in both 16:9 and 360-degree footage. In this Insta360 One RS review we’ll cover important topics like Insta360 One RS specifications, Insta360 One RS price and many more.
This time the camera splits into three pieces—the RS core, the camera module, and a baseplate that secures them. The assembled One RS is similar in size and shape to any other action cams such as GoPros or Osmo Action.
Insta360 One RS Specifications
The major upgrade on the newest camera is the latest 4K Boost lens that featuring a modified 1/2-inch 48MP image sensor. The 4K Boost lens offers a slightly faster f/2.4 aperture, a wider 16mm full-frame lens and a higher ISO. It is also bringing Active HDR that improves video stabilization. Now creators can capture 4K resolution video up to 60fps & shoot 48 MP stills. The camera has built-in “FlowState” stabilization that has been refined.
This insta camera shoots 5.7K resolution in 360-degree and enable users to export video shots from multiple angles. The 360 lens is designed in such a way that the selfie stick doesn’t show up while recording footage which is a fine update I’d say. The audio has been improved by providing new plastic and foam piece at the front that protects the microphones from picking ambient noise. The camera’s Core gets 50 % faster Wi-Fi connectivity which is a significant update. A quick menu is available that allows smooth switching between modes.
One RS features IPX8 waterproofing and can withstand up to 16 feet underwater depth. It has a Record button in addition to the power toggle button and Voice command capability where you can use it hands-free; just tell the camera to start and stop clips. But you’ve to dig into menus to set frame rates and swap video modes. Additionally, the action camera offers a Quick Reader accessory that allows users to plug into the One RS to save files to the SD card by plugging it into the smartphone on the Insta360 App and editing on the go.
Most importantly coming to the Insta360 One RS battery: The Insta360 ONE RS‘s battery has 21% more capacity than the One R battery that has approximately 70 minutes for the 4K and 360 Mods and 65 minutes for the 1-Inch Mod which may vary depending on shooting conditions and capture settings.
