OnePlus PAD 2 – The new Tablet is here!

Oneplus Pad 2 is the successor of the Original OnePlus Pad 1 and is now launched in India. Soon you will get to see the newly launched OnePlus Pad 2 in your nearest store. The price of this new tablet is set to ₹39999 and ₹42999 for base and top variants respectively.

Display of OnePlus Pad 2

OnePlus Pad 2 features a 12.1 inch 144hz HDR10+ display which has a typical brightness of 600 nits and a peak brightness of 900 nits. It is a 10bit display. It is a 3K display with a pixel density of 304ppi. The colours you get to see are crisp and the image is sharp. However, this is not an amoled display so the black will not be as deep as you get to see on the amoled screens. The screen supports dolby vision however on netflix it doesn’t show and it is an HDR display but for some reasons Netflix shows HDR is not compatible. The type of display protection they have used is also not mentioned. So these are some things that is needed to be noticed before buying.

Hardware and software of OnePlus Pad 2

The OnePlus Pad 2 comes with android 14 out of the box with Oxygen OS 14.1 on top of it. You will get to see 3 yesars of android updates and 4 years of security updates. Here you get to see a qualcomm snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as the CPU and and adreno 750 as the GPU. You get to see UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5X ram. The storage feels like a downgrade but to be honest it doesn’t feel that way. When you will use the tablet you will get to see good speeds for gaming and multitasking, the storage is slow compared to market standards but the overall performance eliminates the factor from being a deal breaker. All type of multi function capabilities are present and works smoothly. Unfortunately you will only get to see wifi variant only. No cellular support but if you are having a oneplus phone then there’s a feature that you can pick up calls from your tablet instead of picking it up on your phone while you are working on the tablet, buit keep in mind the call be on speaker as there are no phone speakers. Here you get to see wifi 7 and bluetooth ver 5.4 for connectivity. You don’t get to see any 3.5mm jack like its predecessor and there are two variants to choose from in terms of ram and storage – 128GB & 8GB RAM and 256GB & 12GB RAM. It packs a 3.2 USB type C with otg and accessory connector which is good to see. You get to see all the necessary sensors present like Accelerometer, gyro, proximity etc. There is NFC support as well.

Cameras on the OnePlus Pad 2

THe OnePlus Pad 2 packs a 13mp primary camera and a 8mp selfie shooter. Both the cameras are pretty basic and just gets the job done. The flash on the back is good to have if you are clicking some document pics with this. Pictures taken by the primary camera are perfect and readable if you wanna use it for that stuff. Don’t expect too much from the selfie camera, its just there to help you out with the video calls.

Speakers and Battery of OnePlus Pad 2

You get to see 6 speakers in the Oneplus Pad 2 and they are quite good. But they removed the dolby support in this tablet which was in the previous oneplus pad. So this is a downside in oneplus pad 2. For the battery you get to see a 9510 mAh and you get to see a 67W power adapter inside the box so that’s a good thing. The battery will give you one day of usage easily and you can charge upto 64% in 30 mins, so with that kind of charging speeds you don’t have to sit too much for it to use again.

Build quality and accessories of OnePlus Pad 2

Oneplus Pad 2 has a weight of 584g, just the tablet and with the keyboard it will weigh around 1kg. It is an aluminium frame and its quite sturdy. YOu get to see accessory connector and you can connect a detachable keyboard with it. You can even type with the keyboard being detached because it connects through bluetooth. There is stylus support and there is a new stylus as well for the new tablet, it has some kind of texture on it for better grip and it is pressure sensitive. The pen also works flawlessly and is very good for taking notes and doing sketches and stuff.
