Now iPhone users can transfer WhatsApp data from Android to iOS. WhatsApp has now added the features to enable the users to migrate their conversation chat history, photos, docs, videos & voice messages from Android phones to iPhones through Apple’s Move to iOS app. Previously users have to depend on third-party apps and of those, the apps hardly delivered a good result.
Since WhatsApp data is backed on Google Drive and on iOS it is kept in iCloud, the issue in the compatibility between the two resulted in the delay of the arrival of this future.
Here’s how to do it
The transfer process is simple. Firstly, open the Move to iOS app on the Android smartphone and follow the on-screen prompts that will be displayed on the user’s iPhone. When the screen prompts, users have to enter the code on the Android phone. Click on Continue and follow the on-screen prompts.
After that select WhatsApp on the Transfer Data screen, Tap ‘start’ on your Android phone, and wait for WhatsApp to prepare the data that needs to be exported. The user will be signed out then once the data is prepared. Tap on Continue to transfer the data from the Android phone to iOS and wait for Move to iOS for the transfer confirmation.
Install the latest version of WhatsApp and login using the same phone number as before and then click on Start when prompted. Wait for the system to finish the process. After the activation is finished, the older chats will be visible. It is that easy. Only the call history and the display name will not be transferred as the transferred data does not go to Cloud Storage unless an iCloud backup is created. Due to WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption, the app cannot see the data that an user has transferred and that the Android phone will still be having the data unless the WhatsApp is deleted from the older phone.
